Let's talk

Tell us about your project and we'll get back within one business day.

Dylan Brain

Founder

Hi, I'm Dylan. Every project starts with a real conversation, not a sales pitch. If you're weighing a redesign, scoping a new build, or just want a second pair of eyes, drop a note and you'll hear back from me directly.

Whatever stage you're at, the more context you can share up-front the more useful the first reply will be.

Clients Words

Dylan made the whole process of building my website simple and stress free. He took my initial concept and developed it into a clean, interactive site with intuitive navigation, and even produced a design style guide to support the early stages of my brand.

Communication was excellent throughout. The first draft was ready within days and any changes were quick and easy to implement. I am proud to share the final result with clients.

Tailroad is a full-stack software agency offering web design, development, ecommerce and AI integrations. We have strong industry knowledge across the UK, North America and Japan, and specialise in helping brands cross borders with bilingual, design-led digital experiences. We work with everyone from small startups to established heritage companies — if you care about standing out rather than blending in, we're a good fit.

We're based in the UK but support clients across Japan, the UK and North America.

Not at all. While we have deep experience helping brands enter the Japanese market, we work with companies of all kinds — including UK and North American businesses with no plans to go international. Our expertise just happens to span borders.

We start with a project-based engagement and then, if it makes sense for your business, move onto a retainer. Retainers let us focus on sustained growth month-to-month rather than treating your site or product as a one-and-done deliverable.

Most projects fall within 4–12 weeks, but timelines can vary significantly depending on your requirements, the research involved and the complexity of your industry.

Every business is different, so we price around features and functionality rather than offering simple tiers. This gives us the greatest flexibility and ensures you get the most value from working with an agency. Get in touch for a quote.

Reach out via our contact form, email or connect with us on LinkedIn. From there we'll have a casual discovery chat about your business needs and whether we're a good fit. If we are, we'll put together a proposal, agree on scope and get started.

If your existing stack aligns with ours, we're happy to take a look. In practice though, unless a codebase has been built out strategically, we usually find it's more cost-effective to do a clean rebuild with a full rebrand and refocus — then continue growing together from a solid foundation.

Every project includes a two-week hypercare period after launch. After that, if you'd like additional changes or new features, we can either price ad-hoc work or set up a retainer. Most of our clients prefer the retainer route — it means dedicated monthly development time and consistent growth rather than a one-and-done situation.

We handle translation through our specialist translation partners — you don't need to worry about sourcing it yourself. If you do have your own translations you'd like us to use, that's fine too, but it's important we know at the start of the project so we can plan accordingly.

We focus on localisation, not just translation. That means we research growth areas in the Japanese market and tailor content accordingly, rather than simply pushing out the same English content in a different language. Your site will feel native to Japanese users, not like a copy-paste job.

Absolutely. We love working with new and emerging brands because we can see real, tangible results and support you in getting off the ground. Our market entry, localisation and branding services are designed to help smaller brands stand out in a world of AI-generated templates and cookie-cutter websites.
